In today’s segment of the overrated and underrated artist, we would be featuring reggae/ dancehall singer Patoranking.

Born on the 27th of May 1989  as Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, Patoranking is a reggae and dancehall singer.  The star appeared on the music radar after his hit track “Alburika” ft Timaya was released under the “Dem Mama Records”. This track was said to the key to his breakthrough. He went to release the video to the track and said it was a song told the story of his life and career.

In 2014 he got signed into Foston Musik and went on to release another track “Girlie O” under them. He came with a Nigerian mixed Jamaican style which made people classify him as the Nigerian reggae artist.


This, however, opened doors for the singer as later, he was featured in Seyishay’s “Murda”. 2015 was marked an outstanding year for the singer as his singles “Daniella Whine, My Woman, My Everything” were chart-topping.

The star grew from glory to glory and also became a figure the public reckoned with. He further bagged himself other business endorsements and a couple of awards.  The reggae singer was also featured on guest’s acts by Waje, Stoneboy, Eddy Kenzo and more, making him carve a niche for himself on the entertainment map.

Furthermore, he followed up on his consistency, debuting his first album “God Over Everything” and consisted of murder track like “No Kissing Baby, Forever” and more. And as time went by, he debuted banging hits like  “Available, Suh Different, Heal the world” and a lot more which have bagged him major and strong awards, marking him as a strong collaborator in Nigeria.

Nevertheless, 2019 started pretty well for him as he debuted his second studio album “Wilmer”. it is a 12 track project that consisted of songs such as “Wilmer, fellings, temperature” and more. Although the project didn’t strike a lot of buzz, it never stopped the star from still getting ranked with the likes of Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy.
