Though Falz, Sarkodie and Nasty C have had quite a remarkable year, it’s about to get more fantastic for these artistes. BET has announced the launch of a new category tagged ‘Best International Flow’ in the upcoming BET “Hip Hop Awards”. The category was created in other to recognize the growing appeal of artists from around the world.
Alex Okosi, The executive Vice President and Managing Director of BET International also said this about the new category. “We are excited to announce the first ever BET “Hip Hop Awards” ‘Best International Flow’ category with such diverse nominees. The award will be presented on-stage during the live broadcast, confirming BET’s commitment to recognizing the influence of international artists globally. I believe that opportunities like the BET “Hip Hop Awards” position international artists for global success long after the winners are announced”.
In this new categoty, 3 of Africa’s finest rappers have been nominated in the category. South African rapper Nasty C, Ghanaian Rapper Sarkodie, and Nigerian rapper Falz The Bahd Guy. Furthermore, falz has previously won at the BET Awards before. He won the “Viewer’s Choice Best New International Act” category at the 2016 BET Awards. Sarkodie has also won the award for the Best International act Category in 2012 at the BET’s. Also other artistes from other continents nominated for the category are Tory Lanez, OG Ghetts, and Little Simz.
Furthermore, the event will be taken place in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, on Saturday, October 5th, 2019.
