Every Song Recently Released by Top Nigerian Artists Ranked from Worst to Best

A lot of songs were released by many top Nigerian artists over the course of the last seven days. It, therefore, becomes imperative that we rate them in accordance to the high standard they have set for themselves and what should be expected. Do they surpass these standards with their new single or they fall below them? Every Song Recently Released by Top Nigerian Artists Ranked from worst to best, here we go!

DJ Neptune X Zlatan- English Teacher

Zlatan either rushed this track or it was just poorly premeditated. Remember that Zlatan tweet that inspired this track? if you do and you listened to the track, then you would understand said sentiments. Whether or not the grammatical blunder in the tweet that inspired this short song was deliberate is no longer the question here.

Rather it is the fact that the song had potential but the majority of that potential was concentrated in the first half of the song and the other half was left totally bland in terms of content. Simply put this way, the best part of the song is what we’ve already heard when he initially teased the track on his Instagram. The only part of the song that fully deserves credit is the production, so shoutout to HEC for that the brilliant percussions. Listen here.

Mr. P- Karma

Wow. All I have to say about this particular track is that DJ cuppy is the only one allowed to get away with this sort of nursery-Rhyme lyrics. I dont think it matters just how hard the production of this track goes it still doesn’t excuse the non-effort that went into fine-tuning the lyrics to match with it. It, therefore, appears many of Mr P’s fans will prefer his last single with Niniola to this one.

Falz- Loving

I considered placing this Falz’s new release on the bottom end of these ratings. But that would be too harsh because no song on here is touching the mediocrity of Zlatan’s lyrics in the song above. Now get this I’m not saying that songs on the bottom end are particularly that bad, only that in comparison to their competitions in this category they don’t really look like they stand a chance. My honest opinion is that the song is a bit boring and I doubt it will do as well as his other single, Alakori. But we will let time be the judge of that.

BOJ ft Tiwa- Your Love

Things start to get interesting from here, All thanks to this serene and magical touch of the prolific duo, BOJ, and Tiwa Savage. On this slow tempo beat, BOJ took time in expressing himself in the most poetic way. The outcome? quality music. I can hardly fault this track here and that’s because it is that good. Actually it is arguable to say that it belongs further ahead in this countdown but that’s all subjective.

King Perry- Jojo ft Soft & Terri

The combination of King Perry, soft, Terri and the overall outcome according to this track is really laudable. They each took turns to make the beat completely their own. The melody is great and it is a song you will enjoy each time you listen. There is much improvement on this track compared to his other songs in the past. For instance Murder ft Teni. This is what you love to see from artists, improvements!

Naira Marley & Young John- Mafo

It is barely 2weeks since he released his last number single, Pxta and I’m inclined to agree that with this new track, Naira might actually be on a god streak at the moment. It was brilliant of him to seek the input of other creatives on this new track. That saw him take a break from his run of songs with hitmaker producer, Rexxie and team up with Yong John.

DJ Spinall ft Reminisce- Edi

This is a step up from both their last singles. Dis love featuring Wizkid and Tiwa Savage was astounding but DJ Spinall has taken it up a notch with this new single. Edi sees Indigenous rapper, Reninisce try out a new and interesting style. He switches from that mood of hardcore rap he recently delivered on his last solo single, OGB4IG. That is some serious level of laudable balance in his craft and I honestly can’t wait to see what he does next.

Adekunle Gold- Young love

Majority of the winners on this sensational rundown of all the songs released over the last week seem to be of artists who are brave enough to continue to evolve and rebrand. Already we have seen that Adekunle gold is embarking on this colorful path of evolution as he tries to reintroduce us to this new and fun artist he is now becoming. I must say that he deserves a lot of credit for this brave leap. He simply got everything right, from the lyrics to the production down to the melody. The song is completely beautiful.
