Member of Parliament Elect for Assin North Constituency, James Gyakye Quayson has been ordered to stay away from the 7th January inauguration.

The High court in Cape Coast on its ruling stated MP elect, James Quayson cannot hold himself as the MP for the constituency.
This is as a result of a petition filed by Michael Ankomah who claimed that the MP-elect holds dual citizenship.
The Petitioner continued that, the MP-Elect was still a Canadian citizen when filling nomination to contest December 7 2020 election.

However, the MP elect received his Citizenship renunciation certificate on 27 November 2020 some few days to election.
The petitioner urge the court to declare this position as null and void as its contravenes the provision Article 94 (2) (a) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.
