A busy summer lies ahead for Chelsea and head coach Thomas Tuchel.

Despite looking destined to finish in the top-four in the Premier League and potentially lift both the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League within the next few weeks, the Blues will be looking to make changes to their squad over the course of the summer transfer window.

It is only natural that Tuchel will want to put his own stamp on the squad he inherited upon his arrival at Stamford Bridge, despite the success he has enjoyed with it so far.

Signing a new striker is poised to be at the very top of his to-do list, with the club continuing to be linked with a move for a big-name centre-forward, such as Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku and even Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur.

But if Chelsea are to stand any chance of luring either of those strikers, or certainly someone of a similar calibre to west London this summer, they will have to manage their finances well, as a deal for a big-name forward does not come cheaply nowadays.

Fortunately, the Blues have no shortage of players that they will most probably be looking to offload on permanent deals this summer to raise some funds, including the likes of Ross Barkley, Danny Drinkwater and Michy Batshuayi amongst others.

Another name who is set to be thrown into that ring is versatile ace Victor Moses. The former Crystal Palace man, who has been on Chelsea’s books since 2012, is currently on loan at Russian heavyweights Spartak Moscow and has played a key role in their push to try and win the Russian title this season, featuring on 18 occasions, scoring three goals and claiming four assists.

However, a return to Stamford Bridge, even to put his name in the shop window to find a potential suitor is not set to be necessary, with Spartak’s 2-1 win over Khimki last night all but sealing second place in the league table with one game left to play.

In Russia, the top three clubs secure a place in the following season’s Champions League.

According to a report by Goal, part of the deal that took Moses to the Russian capital would see Spartak automatically sign the former Liverpool man for just £4million if they secured a spot in the Champions League, something they have now of course, sealed, as they cannot finish outside of the top-three.

That means that Moses will now automatically join the Russian outfit on a permanent basis, meaning Chelsea, effectively, have completed their first transfer deal ahead of the summer window officially opening.

Moses’ permanent switch to Russia will see him bring his nine-year stay at Stamford Bridge to an end, although his time with Chelsea has seen him sent out on loan no shortage than six times, featuring moves to the likes of Liverpool and Inter Milan.

During his Blues career, Moses has played 128 times for the club, scoring 18 goals and registering 13 assists.

He was a key member of the squad that won the Premier League title under Antonio Conte in 2016/17, making 34 league appearances that season, as well as scoring three times.
