Arteta opens up on Gunners’ transfer plans

Mikel Arteta has admitted that Arsenal’s contract situation will have a big influence on their summer recruitment plans.

The Gunners have been linked with a host of new players with the season reaching its conclusion and Arteta has told football.london about their plans going into the summer.

“We’ve been sitting down the whole year,” the Arsenal boss said.

“We’ve been in constant communication and things will change, some things will stick to the plan that we already had and some other things will come out. But we sit down very, very regularly to talk about those things.”

“There are so many things to do because we already have a lot of players on loan and a lot of players with contracts still that we need to sort,” he added.

Dembele has already delivered his verdict on transfer

According to reports, Arsenal are weighing up a move for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele this summer – and the Frenchman has already delivered his verdict on a potential transfer.

Dembele is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid and could leave his parent club, Lyon, in the summer transfer window.

Speaking back in January, the French club’s Sporting Director, Juninho, opened up on a conversation him and the striker had.

Juninho said: “Moussa came to see me, he thinks that this is the moment to change teams, that he has lost a bit of motivation, this was not something we foresaw, I like him a lot.”

Havertz sends Arsenal warning to his Chelsea team-mates

Kai Havertz is determined not to underestimate the dangers Arsenal can pose when the Gunners face Chelsea on Wednesday evening.

The Blues are perhaps the most in-form side in the Premier League at the moment and they come up against their London rivals – who have struggled throughout the campaign.

However, Havertz is still wary of what Arsenal can do and is refusing to become complacent when the two teams go head-to-head at Stamford Bridge.

“Arsenal are also fighting for a European place,” the Germany international said.

“They are a very strong side, very dangerous.

“It’s a London derby, so they will be very motivated. But if we play our best football we can win.”
