Chelsea ‘enter race’ to sign Jadon Sancho with £80m bid

Manchester United are the favourites to sign Jadon Sancho, but Chelsea are now set to rival the Reds with an £80million bid for the winger.

That is according to the Sun, who report that Chelsea are ready to test Borussia Dortmund’s resolve with a bid that matches their new asking price for the English star.

Sancho, who was born in London and grew up a Chelsea fan, recently admitted that he doesn’t know what his future holds, but it does seem as though a return to the Premier League is his preferred option.

Thiago Silva’s wife sends message after touchline row

One of the biggest talking points from Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Leicester City didn’t exactly relate to footballing matters, as a large-scale melee broke out on the touchline following Ricardo Pereira’s late challenge on former Fox, Ben Chilwell.

Nearly every player, both on the pitch and substitutes bench, got themselves involved, and in the end, substitute Daniel Amartey, who had not even come off the bench, was booked by Mike Dean for his involvement.

He had already been under the spotlight after he was filmed throwing the Chelsea pennant given to Leicester before Saturday’s FA cup final over his shoulder during his side’s celebrations, and clearly, you could sense the Chelsea players were still aggrieved with Amartey, as Silva was seen pointing the finger at the Leicester defender during the row.

The incident led Silva’s wife to tweet: “That’s right @tsilva3 show who’s boss.” A statement that clearly emphasised how Chelsea players had taken some level of offence to Amartey’s actions.

Chilwell shares brilliant Gilmour moment

Billy Gilmour has been named in Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad for the upcoming European Championships.

Players tend to receive a call from their respective manager to say whether or not they have made the squad for such a tournament, but Gilmour appeared to find out via a different method to what so many are used to.

That is because Chilwell uploaded a video to social media to show Gilmour’s reaction to finding out that he had made the squad via watching Sky Sports News.

As Sky’s graphic changed from the defenders being named in the squad to the midfielders, Gilmour slowly got up from his seat, turned round and smiled at Chilwell, emphasising just how proud he was.
