There is a new favourite in Tottenham’s search for a new manager.
In a shock development, former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has become the overwhelming favourite to succeed Jose Mourinho despite only joining PSG as recently as January.
Football.london understands Tottenham have already started talks over the possibility of bringing Pochettino back to the club and that the Argentine could be interested in a return.
Reports in France have also claimed that Pochettino is unhappy with how certain aspects are run at PSG and that he could welcome a move away after just five months.
Though, the report does add that PSG have no intention of allowing Pochettino to leave as he enters the final year of his short-term contract.
That could give Spurs some work to do, but it’s understood Daniel Levy is already on the case with Pochettino still a much-loved figure in the white half of north London.
Pochettino himself has admitted he has ‘unfinished business’ at Spurs, and it seems the bookmakers are fully convinced of his return, installing him as the odds-on favourite.
Though, there are still other candidates, and former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte leaving Inter Milan saw the Italian move into second in the odds, behind Ajax boss Erik ten Haag.
Here are the latest odds in full, courtesy of Betfair, and there is no surprise to see plenty of movement following this morning’s news of a possible Poch return.
Mauricio Pochetino – 1/1
Antonio Conte – 4/1
Erik ten Haag – 6/1
Roberto Martinez – 15/2
Graham Potter – 11/1
Brendan Rodgers – 14/1
Zinedine Zidane – 17/1
Julen Lopetegui – 25/1
