Arsenal have got their pre-season campaign up and running ahead of the new 2021/22 campaign.
But things did not quite go according to plan during their opening encounter of a short pre-season tour of Scotland as they were beaten 2-0 by Hibernian at Easter Road.
Manager Mikel Arteta named a reasonably strong side in the first half, handing a debut to goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, but it was his horrendous mistake that led to Hibs opening the scoring through Martin Boyle.
And the home side double their advantage in the second half after some woeful Arsenal defending gifted Daniel Mackay space to head home.
Nicolas Pepe missed a penalty soon after, but Emile Smith Rowe did come off the bench to volley home to half the deficit in the final ten minutes.
Reporter Kaya Kaynak was present for the first game of pre-season, during which Arteta was able to check out a number of young players.
