Nigerian Government Desperate To Suppress Social, Online Media Freedom Through National Broadcasting Act

President Muhammadu Buhari has invited members of the Senate to a dinner at the Presidential Villa today (Tuesday) by 8pm.

Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, read the President’s letter on the floor of the Senate at the commencement of the plenary.



Lawan asked his colleagues to arrive at the Senate wing of the National Assembly for take off to the Villa by 7 pm.

Meanwhile, the President, also on Tuesday, forwarded the 2022-2024 Medium Term Expenditure and Fiscal Strategy Paper for consideration by the lawmakers, Punch reports.

The Senate subsequently suspended its order to enable the chamber to consider the request before the parliament’s annual vacation.

The Senate President, therefore, referred the communication to the Committee on Finance for necessary legislative action.
