Erling Haaland to Chelsea is ‘mission impossible’ according to the latest reports surrounding the Norwegian’s future.
Haaland, 20, has had a price tag of £150million put on him by his club Borussia Dortmund, as the Germans remain eager to keep the striker for another season at least.
However, this hasn’t put the Blues off exploring a deal for the world class forward, with the latest reports suggesting that the west Londoners are preparing an opening offer to test the resolve of the German club.
Three players are being linked to the Stamford Bridge exit door this summer, as Thomas Tuchel’s side look to raise significant funds which will partly help in affording the expensive young striker.
football.london understands that the 20-year-old is the club’s primary target this summer, ahead of former Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane.
Sky Germany’s Max Bielefeld has come out today trying to put a dampener on the potential deal to take the Norwegian to London this summer.
His latest update regarding Haaland is: “It’s ‘mission impossible’ for Chelsea to sign Erling Haaland this summer.”
This update has provoked a strong reaction from the Blues faithful on social media as you can see above.
Meanwhile, here is more on how a select number of Chelsea fans have reacted to the latest news on the Haaland transfer saga.
@CFCBurt89 simply put: “‘You don’t know Roman.”
@TheScore01 tweeted: “Clearly you don’t know Roman Abramovich.”
@JBesman smartly pointed out: “So if you have ever watched Mission Impossible this means he is coming on deadline day.”
@SimonSpeaks similarly put: “Except of course in Mission Impossible, somehow the mission is always accomplished in the end.”
@CFC_Danne tweeted: “Nothing’s impossible with Roman.”
On the other side of the argument, @JustinOkoli demanded: “Then we move to plan B rather than waste time on one man all summer. We are champions of Europe, we shouldn’t beg anyone to join Chelsea. There are quality strikers out there to bring in – that’s if our scouts are actually their jobs.”
@NanaCHELSEA10 tweeted: “Chelsea are just wasting their own time.”
Interestingly enough, similar things were said by the German media last summer when it came to the Timo Werner and Kai Havertz transfer sagas, and look what happened in the end.
We don’t know yet if Dortmund have briefed the media just to try and scare Chelsea off, or if this stance is genuine and there’s close to a zero percent chance of this transfer going through this summer – only time will tell.
What we do know though, like most Blues fans have pointed out, is that nothing is impossible with owner Roman Abramovich and his board of directors in charge of the club.
