Joe Hart

Very little to do in the first half other than pluck a few balls out of the air. 6

Kallum Cesay

Another versatile Spurs youngster, he covered the left flank well but didn’t get too many opportunities to get into attacking areas. 6

Cameron Carter-Vickers

Back for yet another Spurs pre-season, the 23-year-old dealt well with what came his way, including an important interception just before the break. 7

Eric Dier

Captain for the day and he was not troubled too much in the first half by the Orient attackers. 6

Maksim Paskotsi

Naturally a centre-back but playing at right-back, the 18-year-old Estonia international, like Cesay, was utilised mainly in a defensive role. 6

Nile John

With licence to get forward, he touched Winks’ early pass over a defender only to see his low shot saved by the goalkeeper. Always, looking for the ball, he was one of the brightest players for Spurs in the first half. Had a shot from distance pushed away by the keeper around the half hour mark. 8

Harry Winks

Playing in the holding role, he sprayed a perfect diagonal ball into the path of John for an early chance. Was a busy presence in front of the back four. 7

Lucas Moura

Got around the pitch with his usual energy and played a perfect through ball into the path of Scarlett to score before half-time. which gives him an extra point. 7

Dele Alli

Looking more bulked up in his upper body after all his summer work, he struggled to make much of an impact on the game despite coming deep often to get the ball. 5

Steven Bergwijn

Plenty of runs down the left, trying to get on to the end of balls over the top but like Alli he struggled to make a real impact in the first half. 5

Dane Scarlett

The 17-year-old sent an early header over the crossbar from Lucas’ corner. Plenty of running off the ball and he got his reward just before half-time, running on to Lucas’ through ball and hitting a composed, low left-footed shot in off the inside of the post. It was a mature finish that showed just why everyone at the club is so excited about him. 8
