Here is your Arsenal morning digest on Thursday, July 22.

Gunners prepare Ramsdale offer

According to talkSPORT, Arsenal are ‘planning a bid’ of around £30million for Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

The report states that the Gunners have seen two bids already turned down for the 23-year-old shot-stopper, but are expected to test the Blades’ resolve with a third.

Bernd Leno ‘s future at the Emirates Stadium is uncertain and Mikel Arteta has been linked with bringing in a replacement for the German.

Andre Onana seemed to be a target at one stage, but recent reports have been linking him with a move to Lyon.

Gunners emerge as ‘favourites’ for Henderson transfer

British bookmaker Coral have released a statement around Jordan Henderson’s future at Liverpool and have named Arsenal as the ‘favourites’ to land his signature.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “Jordan Henderson is now into the last two years of his current contract at Liverpool.

“And if and when he does move on, Arsenal are our favourites to sign the midfielder.”

The Athletic reported earlier this week that Henderson and the Reds have made no real progress in talks over a new contract, with the England international’s deal at Anfield due to expire in two years’ time.

Aouar transfer blow

Liverpool have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Lyon playmaker Houssem Aouar this summer.

Arsenal have long been linked with Aouar, but recently, the France international has attracted plenty of interest from elsewhere.

Le10Sport are now reporting that it’s Liverpool who are in pole position for the 23-year-old’s signature.

Lyon are reportedly willing to allow Aouar to leave this summer if a £30m offer comes their way and the Reds are the only club that do not need to sell to make such an offer.

With Georginio Wijnaldum leaving for Paris Saint-Germain recently on a free transfer, that has freed up a big sum from the wage bill that could be spent elsewhere.

The Gunners were linked with Aouar for the majority of last summer, but could never reach an agreement with Lyon. The likes of Liverpool and Tottenham have now also been credited with an interest in the highly-rated French midfielder.
