AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie has admitted that he is eyeing a lifetime stay at the San Siro amid rumours linking him with a move to the Premier League.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been strongly linked with a swoop for the Ivorian in the past, although whether he remains on their shortlist remains to be seen.

The Gunners have moved for Anderlecht’s Albert Sambi Lokonga to bolster their midfield options, whilst north London rivals Spurs appear well-stocked in the centre of the park as it stands.

Regardless, Kessie appears to have closed the door on a potential move to either the Emirates or the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by suggesting that he envisages his long-term future with AC Milan and is aiming to pen a new deal sooner rather than later.

Talking to Gazzetta dello Sport, he said: “I am proud to have chosen Milan and it is not my intention to leave. On the contrary, I want to stay forever.”

“I only want Milan; Maldini and Massara know my thoughts. I like it so much when the ultras sing: ‘a President, there is only a President … ‘. Well, I want to be for life.”

Former Atalanta midfielder Kessie heads into the 2021/22 season fresh off the back of his most eye-catching campaign as an AC Milan player.

He netted 14 goals and provided six assists in 50 appearances in all competitions from the centre of the park.

The 24-year-old only has one year remaining on his current contract at the San Siro though – a huge reason behind the speculation regarding his future.

He is currently away on Olympic duty with the Ivory Coast.
