West Ham United’s opening match of the Premier League campaign takes place on Sunday, August 15, and 3,000 Hammers fans are set to be in attendance.
Following the relaxation of coronavirus restrictions in England, hosts Newcastle United are expecting a sell-out crowd at St James’ Park – including 3,000 away fans.
The Hammers then return to action eight days later with a home clash against Leicester City at the London Stadium on Monday, August 23, at 8pm. West Ham will be able to welcome back a capacity crowd for the first time since a 3-1 victory over Southampton in February 2020.
The match against Newcastle kicks off at 2pm and ticket details have been announced. Adults are priced at £30 and will be available to Bondholders and Season Ticket holders through the club website from Thursday, July 29.
Before the trip to Newcastle, West Ham have two remaining pre-season friendlies starting on Saturday, July 31, at 3pm, with a trip to the Brentford Community Stadium to take on newly-promoted Brentford.
Thomas Frank’s team finished third in last season’s Championship before beating Swansea 2-0 in the play-off final to seal promotion to the top flight for the first time since the 1946-47 season.
The Hammers final pre-season challenge takes place on Saturday, August 7, with another 3pm kick-off, this time at the London Stadium against Atalanta.
The Italian outfit will offer Moyes’ team a tough final pre-season match with Gian Piero Gasperini’s men preparing for their third successive campaign in the Champions League.
West Ham are preparing for their own European adventure which gets underway on Thursday, September 16. The Hammers will find out who their European opponents will be when the Europa League draw takes place at noon UK time on Friday, August 27.
