David Moyes has named a strong starting XI for West Ham United’s final pre-season friendly against Atlanta at the London Stadium.
The boss has opted to start with a very experienced side full of first-team players from last season with a mix of youth and experience on the substitute’s bench.
Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek, Vladimir Coufal and Andriy Yarmolenko return for the first time since their Euro 2020 exertions and are all handed starts by the manager.
Moyes has elected to start with Lukasz Fabianksi in goal ahead of new signing Alphonse Areola who will be hoping to make his Hammers debut from the bench.
Ahead of Fabianski, Moyes has chosen a backline of Coufal, Craig Dawson, Issa Diop and Aaron Cresswell in a back four with Angelo Ogbonna still not fully recovered from the injury he picked up against Celtic.
Soucek and Rice are at the heart of the Hammers midfield behind attacking-midfielders Pablo Fornals, Andriy Yarmolenko and Said Benrahma.
The attacking quartet is completed by lone striker Michail Antonio leading the line once more.
Jarrod Bowen is once again not involved from the start following a minor injury suffered ahead of the clash against Brentford but has returned to the bench for today’s match.
Moyes has named a substitutes bench with a mix of youth and experience giving the boss plenty of options to change the game as needed.
