Here is your Arsenal morning digest on Monday, August 9.

Spurs agree Lautaro Martinez fee

Arsenal reportedly face strong competition in the race for Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez, and from none other than from north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

football.london understands that Spurs have agreed a fee of over €60m for the Inter Milan man, although a deal could depend on whether the Italian giants sell Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea.

The Gunners have previously been talked up as suitors for the 23-year-old striker as Mikel Arteta attempts to bolster his frontline ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

Gunners launch Kieran Trippier bid

Meanwhile, Arsenal appear to be busy tabling bids of their own.

According to The Sun, the Gunners are interested in signing Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier. He is reportedly seen as a perfect replacement for Hector Bellerin, who has been considering his future at the Emirates Stadium.

Trippier only has two years remaining on his contract at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, with Atleti reportedly demanding £34m for his signature should they sell this summer.

Brighton eyeing Eddie Nketiah

Arsenal could potentially finance any move for Trippier with the potential sale of striker Eddie Nketiah.

The 22-year-old is apparently being eyed by Premier League rivals Brighton, with Seagulls boss Graham reportedly hopeful of securing a £20m deal.

He would be the second player to be transferred between the two clubs following Ben White’s big-money switch to north London earlier this summer.

White moved to Arsenal in a £50million deal, with Brighton now expected to go into the transfer market to strengthen as a result of the cash injection.
