Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Monday, August 9.

Nuno sends Guardiola message

Nuno Espirito Santo may have sent a thinly veiled dig at Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, who spoke about the Citizens’ pursuit of Spurs star Harry Kane on Friday.

“I will not speak about any player. I will speak only about my players, Spurs players”, he said when asked about the Lilywhites’ pursuit of Inter Milan frontman Lautaro Martinez, before confirming Kane is back training with the club.

“Harry (Kane) is with us. He has to quarantine, he’s in the lodge but he’s training. He already made the first day with the sports science team. He’s with us.”

Lautaro Martinez blow revealed on Sunday morning that Tottenham had seen a bid in excess of £50million accepted for Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez, although, this was before Chelsea’s pursuit of Romelu Lukaku began to advance.

And Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano claimed that his client was extremely happy at the San Siro despite interest from several clubs.

“Lautaro Martinez is happy at Inter and in Italy. His decision is to stay”, he told Argentina’s TyC, as quoted by Inter News.

“The relationship with Inter is perfect. Lautaro Martinez is calm. Yes, it is true that there were offers, but today he is fine and we will sit down to talk about the future.”

Sabitzer update

Tottenham transfer target Marcel Sabitzer could be on his way out of RB Leipzig this summer, according to Die Rotten Bullen’s manager Jesse. Marsch.

“It is entirely possible that Sabi (Sabitzer) leaves,” he said.

“He only has one year of [his] contract left – let’s see what happens to him.”

German outlet Bild previously confirmed Spurs’ interest in the Austrian international back in December of last year but a move for the 27-year-old may be unlikely this month considering the Lilywhites have already added talented Spanish playmaker Bryan Gil this summer.
