Brentford vs Arsenal live: Kick-off time, team news and how to watch

Arsenal get their Premier League season underway as they travel to West London to take on newly promoted Brentford.

The Gunners were already heading into the game facing a few problems with Gabriel, Eddie Nketiah and Thomas Partey all out injured, but now they head into tonight’s game at the Brentford Community Stadium without forwards Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as well.

The pair’s absence due to illness means that an opportunity could present itself for youngsters Flo Balogun or Gabriel Martinelli to make their case at centre forward.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping to use the game as a chance to put his team’s underwhelming transfer window so far to one side and raise morale around the Emirates Stadium with a victory.

Ben White, Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga have all signed, but there was a hope that a few more new faces would have come through the door by the opening day of the season.

For now though the focus is on getting three points in what is as close to a ‘must win’ game as you can get for the Gunners who will want to build momentum ahead of tough fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester City in the coming weeks.
