Nuno Espirito Santo will be aiming to overturn a European deficit on Thursday night as Tottenham take on Pacos de Ferreira in the UEFA Conference league.
The north Londoners are behind following the first leg in Portugal but have enjoyed an excellent start to the new Premier League season.
Former Wolves boss Espirito Santo has consequently been putting his squad through their paces throughout the week as they aim to take that food form onto the European stage.
Here are a few things we noticed from Spurs’ latest training session from images released on Wednesday, August 25.
Kane all smiles
It has been a hectic few days for England captain Harry Kane. football.london revealed that he had accepted the decision to stay in north London this season amid interest from Manchester City.
He then confirmed that news with a statement released on social media.
With the added noise regarding a transfer now halted, Kane was certainly all smiles in training and will certainly be aiming to score his first goal of the season should he be involved during the game against Pacos.
Ndombele still involved
Whilst the attention has been taken away from Kane’s potential transfer, there still remains a few question marks over the future of Tanguy Ndombele.
Spurs boss Espirito Santo previously confirmed that the former Lyon man would not be involved against Wolves at Molineux, but he has now been spotted hard at work during the last two training sessions.
It remains to seen whether he remains a Tottenham player beyond deadline day but as it stands, he looks to still be trying to impress his new boss.
Dele Alli continuing hard work
One man who certainly knows what it is like to be left out in the cold in north London is Dele Alli. The English midfielder has been in and out of the Tottenham line-up over the past few years but he has started the new season very well.
Alli has played the full 90 minutes in each of the opening two Premier League matches of the season, whilst he both won and scored the winning penalty against Wolves – his first league goal since 2020.
He was not used against Pacos last time out and it will be interesting to see if Nuno Espirito Santo turns to him to salvage Spurs’ place in the competition.
