Juventus are not considering a move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, according to the latest reports.
Arsenal’s captain has endured a rather mixed start to the new campaign. After missing the Gunners’ opening day defeat to newly-promoted Brentford as a result of contracting coronavirus, Aubameyang couldn’t help his side get back into the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea after coming on from the bench.
He then smashed in a true forward’s hat-trick against West Brom in the Carabao Cup, before leading his team in a humiliating 5-0 loss to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City; a defeat that leaves Arsenal sitting bottom of the table after three games.
Amidst Arsenal’s poor performances on the pitch, Aubameyang has been linked with a move away from the club.
Although he became the highest paid player at the Emirates Stadium after signing a new deal in 2020, the Gabonese forward has attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona this summer.
And after the announcement of Ronaldo’s shock Manchester United return, there were rumours that Aubameyang was on the list of names tipped to replace the Portuguese superstar in Turin.
However, as reported by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Juventus are not considering a late move for any of Aubameyang, Sergio Aguero or Eden Hazard.
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta and Edu are still looking to strengthen the Arsenal squad before Tuesday’s 11pm deadline, football.london understands.
The Gunners were looking to sell a few players before going back into the market, but after Lucas Torreira moved to Fiorentina last week, and Willian’s likely exit to Corinthians, at least one more signing before August 31 is entirely possible.
