With just over 24 hours remaining of the summer transfer window, Arsenal could be looking to complete some late business.

The Gunners, who have started the Premier League season poorly with three defeats from their opening three matches, have signed five players so far this summer for a total of around £130million.

It is expected to be a busy final day of the window for Arsenal, especially on the outgoing front.

Gunners striker Alexandre Lacazette, who has less than 12 months remaining of his contract at the Emirates Stadium, has been heavily linked with a move away from north London throughout the summer.

The former Lyon striker will be allowed to negotiate pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs in the January transfer window, meaning Arsenal’s last chance to land a fee for the Frenchman could be before the deadline on Tuesday evening.

Now, according to a report from Transfer Market Web, Barcelona are interested in signing Lacazette for €15m (£12.8m), with the forward said to be determined to secure a move away from the Emirates.

The 30-year-old has played twice for Arsenal in all competitions this season, scoring one goal in the side’s thumping win over West Brom last week.

Speaking about Lacazette’s future in the capital back in April, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta said that his situation would be spoken about in the summer.

He said: “I am always happy when people talk about our players and speculate on that. It means they are doing well and getting attention from other clubs.

“The situation with Laca will get addressed in the summer. I will speak to him and just propose a future that we want and that’s it.

“Now I just want players focused and only focused on performing and getting the best out of them for the team.”
