Arsenal fans love what Nicolas Pepe did before Martin Odegaard’s free kick vs Burnley

Arsenal’s 2020/21 campaign has been a rollercoaster one so far.

The Gunners got off to their worst start to a season since 1954 after losing all of their opening three Premier League games, losing 2-0 to newly-promoted Brentford before Chelsea inflicted the same scoreline upon them a week later.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City then thrashed the north London club 5-0 after Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka received a straight red card following a dangerous tackle on City defender Joao Cancelo.

However, Mikel Arteta’s men have since put together two wins on the bounce, beating Norwich City 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium last weekend before they registered their first league away win of the campaign, defeating Burnley on Saturday afternoon as Martin Odegaard netted the only goal of the game.

The 22-year-old playmaker scored directly from a free-kick, bending the ball around the Burnley wall and into the top corner after Bukayo Saka had been fouled on the edge of the area.

After the goal some Arsenal fans took to social media, claiming Nicolas Pepe was celebrating before the Norwegian had even taken the free-kick as the Ivorian appeared to have his hands raised when the former Real Madrid star stepped up to take the set-piece.
