Arsenal battle Liverpool for £17m transfer target as Edu eyes Alexandre Lacazette replacement

Arsenal chase Adeyemi

According to the a report from the Daily Mail, Arsenal are interested in signing RB Salzburg forward Karim Adeyemi.

Liverpool are also said to be keen on signing the talented 19-year-old attacker, who has scored 11 goals in just 16 appearances for the Austrian outfit so far this season.

Adeyemi has just under three years remaining on his contract in Salzburg and his side are reportedly willing to sell him for just £17million.

Gunners identify Lacazette replacement

Arsenal have identified England duo Ollie Watkins and Dominic Calvert-Lewin as possible replacements for Alexandre Lacazette, according to The Sun.

Lacazette has less than 12 months remaining on his contract with the Gunners and could leave the club as early as January.

Now, Edu has been tasked with finding a suitable replacement for Lacazette and it appears he has identified two in Watkins and Calvert-Lewin.

Arteta considers loan for striker

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is considering loaning striker Folarin Balogun out in January if his game time continues to be limited at the Emirates Stadium.

Balogun signed a contract extension at the Gunners last summer but still faces strong competition for a place under Arteta in the first team.

The striker made his Premier League debut against Brentford in the opening game of the season, but failed to make too much of an impact as the visitors lost 2-0 to the newly-promoted side.

The 20-year-old’s contract with the Gunners does not expire until the summer of 2025 – and he has scored a superb six goals in just four appearances in the Premier League 2 so far this season.
