Fabio Paratici chases Argentine striker as Tottenham handed major transfer boost

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Wednesday, October 6.

Alvarez interest

Spurs are interested in signing River Plate striker Julian Alvarez, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.

Alvarez, who is said to have a release clause of €25million (£21.2million), has reportedly attracted interest from the Lillywhites as well as fellow Premier League outfit Aston Villa.

The Argentine frontman has enjoyed a productive start to the season, netting seven goals in 11 appearances this term.

“English is a little harder to learn,” Emerson Royal said.

“Not here, if you don’t know, it’s hard to understand, because you have no idea what people are telling you. The first few days were very complicated because I didn’t understand anything at all.”

“Today I can understand a lot, I can communicate, not 100%, far from it, but now I can communicate more with people, I understand more things.

Vlahovic boost

Spurs have been handed a huge transfer boost after Fiorentina confirmed that Dusan Vlahovic has rejected a new contract offer from the Serie A club.

Vlahovic notched 21 league goals last term, garnering interest from a host of Europe’s elite sides over the summer, with the Lillywhites reportedly monitoring his situation closely.

Now, Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso has confirmed that a lucrative offer to the Serbian international has not been accepted.

He said: “As you know, Fiorentina made a very significant offer to the player (Vlahovic). Our proposal would have made him the highest-paid player in the history of the club.

“We also improved our offer on a number of occasions in order to accommodate the requests of both Dusan and his entourage. However, despite our efforts, those offers have not been accepted.”
