Tottenham centre-half Joe Rodon has delivered a defiant two-word message on Instagram amid concerns of a lack of game time already being offered to him by Nuno Espirito Santo.

Rodon, 23, has had a mixed time so far this season with himself struggling to make the cut for the first team week in, week out.

The likes of Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez, and Cristian Romero have gained more of the manager’s trust so far with the Welsh international still facing a battle to prove himself in the Premier League.

Nonetheless, Rodon has still received game time with the large majority of it coming in the Europa Conference League campaign.

He started and played the full 90 minutes in both the group stage games so far and has averaged a rating – which includes his scattered Premier League appearances – of 6.25 which is just above average.

Despite the lack of regular minutes at club level, the 23-year-old has admitted himself in a previous press conference that Espirito Santo has been brilliant.

“Yeah. I guess every manager is different in their own ways,” Rodon reflected ahead of the 2-2 draw with French side Rennes.

“I haven’t been with this manager long but he’s been brilliant with me so far. I want to learn from him. I’ve got to keep working hard and we’ll see where that takes me.”

Amid his battle to prove himself to the Portuguese manager, the international stage could prove handy in the defender’s audition to make himself a mainstay in the first team.

Rodon and Wales have a real battle on their hands in terms of trying to qualify from their tough World Cup qualifying group.

They currently sit third with seven points after four group games- level on points with the Czech Republic and a whopping nine points behind group leaders Belgium.

Spurs fans and Nuno will be keeping a close eye on how Rodon and co. get on over this October international break with crucial games against the Czech Republic and Estonia on the horizon.

If the former Swansea centre-half was to impress, then the possibility of himself making it in the team that travel to Newcastle in the Premier League on Sunday, October 17 increases.

Ahead of this tough international period, Rodon himself has posted a defiant two-emoji type message to illustrate how him and the rest of the Wales squad are feeling ahead of the pivotal time.

His post was simply the Wales flag with the dragon emoji and the all-important hashtag #togetherstronger.
