William Saliba given vote of confidence by Mikel Arteta as Arsenal show classy gesture – Bailey Keogh

Welcome to our football.london Arsenal daily round-up piece. Maybe not the first, we’ve definitely done transfer round-ups before, and European round-ups, so I guess in some ways it’s not that new at all. Anyway, we thought we would enter the world of football in a broad and roundabout manner for you and have some fun with some of the stories and captions doing the daily rounds.

William Saliba tipped for Arsenal future

William Saliba is set to return to Arsenal for next season after the north London club is said to be impressed with his progress according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.

Romano said: “Arsenal are following William Saliba’s performance with Marseille, they are very happy with him.

“The club told him several weeks ago that they were counting 100% on him for the future of Arsenal.”

The Frenchman signed for the Gunners in a £27 million deal during the summer of 2019 but is yet to make a first-team appearance in red and white due to the three loan stints in France since joining the club.

Arsenal told to sign Premier League striker

Former Tottenham striker Darren Bent has suggested that Arsenal should sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Bent said: “Yes (he would be a good fit for Arsenal). It’s early days.

“But what he has shown so far at Brentford, he is the real deal, not in terms of his goal return, just the way he is bullying people and he never shies away from a challenge.”

Arsenal have been linked with a host of strikers recently after it is clear that Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are on their way out of the club as their contracts are set to expire in the summer.

Toney has had an impressive start to his Premier League career after achieving 31 goals and 10 assists in 45 Championship fixtures last season, showing he would certainly be a good signing for the Gunners.

Arsenal striker set for loan move

Folarin Balogun could leave Arsenal on loan in January in order to get more game time.

Despite the 18-year-old striker signing a contract extension last summer, he has found his opportunities to be limited.

The youngster started on the opening day defeat against Brentford but hasn’t started a game since and has made one substitute appearance in the league.

It seems that he is too good for youth team football with his consistently excellent performances, so a loan move for first-team football is certainly a step in the right direction.

The Gunners pushed hard for him to sign a new contract after interest elsewhere from many other clubs in Europe, so the club will be keen to make sure Balogun’s development is correct.

Arsenal show classy gesture for Derby County

Arsenal have agreed a deal with Derby County to defer a payment of £1.4 million for their former midfielder Krystian Bielik, according to the latest reports from The Telegraph.

Derby signed Bielik in 2019 for a club-record fee worth up to £10 million. However, Arsenal have struck an agreement to delay the payment until next year to help with the Rams’ cash flow problems.

The Rams are in a serious financial crisis but this gesture from the Gunners will certainly add fewer flames to the fire.
