Carlos Vinicius opens up on Tottenham loan spell

Former Spurs loanee Carlos Vinicius has revealed that Tottenham could not sign him on a permanent deal after his temporary spell in north London ended.

The Benfica hitman joined the club on loan last term but his opportunities were limited to just nine outings in the Premier League under Jose Mourinho and Ryan Mason. The Brazilian has since suggested that Spurs were considering bringing him back on a permanent basis, but were not quite able to secure a deal.

Talking to Zerozero, he said: “Yes, at times Tottenham wanted to [buy me], but ended up not being able to.”

Paratici gives Tottenham verdict

When asked for his thoughts on the season so far, Paratici replied: “The work of the month is we have to be balanced. So we start one month and we have three very good results and then more this month maybe so and so.

“I think we are one step up, we are one step up because also the difficulties are important for to be something.”
