Results certainly didn’t go Nuno Espirito Santo and Tottenham’s way in the month of September.

Spurs only managed a solitary victory against NS Mura in the Europa Conference League, as well as Carabao Cup progression via penalties against Wolves.

Despite the doom and gloom around results, there were of course silver linings amongst the grey clouds in terms of individual performances.

One of those shining lights was, as ever, Son Heung-min, the South Korean continuing to provide attacking thrust as Harry Kane once more struggled.

He grabbed the only goal in the defeat to Arsenal and looked generally threatening from the left whilst the team struggled to create.

It was these performances that led football.london readers to vote Son as their player of the month, claiming 41.2 per cent of the vote.

Another bright spark in Oliver Skipp came in second with 29 per cent of voters feeling the midfielder should have won, whilst Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg followed in a distant third.

With a win against Aston Villa in their final game before the international break, Spurs have definitely started the month better, and with Son claiming man of the match in that game perhaps the South Korean will win in October too.
