Arsenal have had a number of their stars poached by Manchester United in the past.

Dutch frontman Robin van Persie infamously made the switch from the Emirates Stadium to Old Trafford in the summer of 2012 before going on to fire the Red Devils to the Premier League trophy that very season.

Meanwhile, Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez also left the Gunners to join United in January 2018, although his move didn’t quite go to plan, struggling to find the back of the net before he was shortly shipped off to Italian giants Inter Milan.

Now, according to the Daily Mail, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could be offered the chance to sign another former Arsenal star, in the form of Aaron Ramsey.

The report claims that Ramsey could be used as a makeweight by his parent club Juventus in their bid to re-sign United midfielder Paul Pogba, who left Turin in 2016 for a then-world-record fee of £89million.

The Welsh playmaker has struggled since joining The Old Lady in the summer of 2019, suffering from a plethora of injury problems that have reduced him to just 69 appearances for the Italian giants.

Ramsey enjoyed a glittering career with the Gunners, registering 65 goals and 65 assists across 371 appearances for the north London club.

The 30-year-old will forever be etched in Arsenal history after he netted the winner in the 2014 FA Cup final as Arsene Wenger’s side defeated Hull 3-2, ending their nine-year wait for a major trophy.

The former Cardiff midfielder then cemented himself as a fan favourite in 2017 as he again scored the winner in the FA Cup final when the Gunners recorded a famous 2-1 victory over Antonio Conte’s Chelsea.
