Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Monday, October 11.

Sam Johnstone targeted

Tottenham Hotspur added Italian goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini to their ranks in the summer, signing the 26-year-old on a season-long loan from Atalanta with an option to buy.

However, the north London club are now being linked to West Brom ‘keeper Sam Johnstone, with The Sun claiming that the Lillywhites have an offer ‘pencilled in’ for the English international if he does leave The Hawthorns next summer.

The former Manchester United shot-stopper could join Nuno Espirito Santo’s side on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign as his current contract is set to expire in 2022.

Eric Dier verdict

Eric Dier has praised Spurs’ summer signings and highlighted the potential quality they could bring to N17.

“Cristian [Romero] looks good, I think he’s going to be a fantastic player for the club, I love the way he plays,” Dier said in an interview on Tottenham’s official website.

“It’s enjoyable to watch and he’s enjoyable to play with.

“He’s very aggressive, very much on the front foot and very clever as well, the way he uses his body, the way he reads the game. He’s sharp, and so quick to execute. He’s very sneaky in taking the ball away and using different angles.”
