Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has insisted that Alexandre Lacazette remains committed to the club despite reports linking him with a move away.

The Frenchman has been left on the sidelines by Arteta in recent weeks, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang instead selected to lead the line.

Those decisions certainly leave Lacazette’s future with the club in a precarious position, with his contract set to expire at the end of the campaign.

football.london understands that the former Lyon striker will leave the Emirates Stadium come the conclusion of his deal, with Atletico Madrid and Juventus having been linked with a move in recent times.

Despite that, Arteta has confirmed that Lacazette remains fully-committed to Arsenal throughout the remainder of his deal, and will give the Frenchman more opportunity to show his worth regardless of what his future holds.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Gunners’ clash with Crystal Palace, the Spaniard said: “We are focusing on getting the best out of Laca and he shows every day that his commitment is here.

“We want to give him the right minutes so he can show the quality and help the team to be better.”

Lacazette, now 30, has made just four appearances for Arsenal throughout the current campaign and scored twice – both of those strikes coming in Carabao Cup victories against West Bromwich Albion and AFC Wimbledon.

He is yet to start a game in the Premier League having made brief cameo appearances against the likes of Manchester City and Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Frenchman was signed from Lyon in 2017 and has gone on to score 67 goals in 174 appearances in all competitions thus far.
