The January transfer window is just over a month away.

As a number of players are set to miss at least a few weeks of action at the beginning of 2022 because of the Africa Cup of Nations, Edu may need to dip into the market to add to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal squad.

Meanwhile, some players have uncertain futures at the Emirates.

The likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are coming to the end of their contracts at the club and may well move on in January.

With that all in mind, let’s take a look at some of the latest rumours surrounding the club.

What?

Asensio is interested in moving to Arsenal as he nears the end of his time at Real Madrid.

According to the report, the midfielder is worried about the potential arrival of Kylian Mbappe as he knows that will pretty much mean he has no chance of getting back into Carlo Ancelotti’s starting XI.

Tottenham and AC Milan are also interested, but Asensio himself would prefer a move to Arsenal.

What?

Manchester United are interested in signing Vlahovic, with Ralf Rangnick set to fight Arsenal for his signature.

As per the report, the Red Devils have been monitoring the 21-year-old’s progress ahead of the window, and he could become Rangnick’s first signing as United’s interim manager.

What?

Pablo Mari is ‘unsatisfied’ with his situation in London.

The centre-back has only made three appearances for the club this season, and is reportedly interested in returning to Flamengo.

The biggest problem, however, is Mari’s salary.

The Brazilian club can’t pay anything close to what he earns at Arsenal, so the Gunners would need to come up with a solution where they continue to pay part of his wages.
