Tottenham player ratings: Harry Kane strikes, Dele Alli and Sanchez poor after Sessegnon red

Pierluigi Gollini

Could only watch Horvat’s curling short sail past him 11 minutes in. Other than watch another effort drift wide he had very little to do until again he could only watch Marosa’s strike deflect past him to win it for the lowest ranked team in the competition. 5

Japhet Tanganga

Started on the right of a back three but switched to the left of a back four following Sessegnon’s red card. He then moved to right-back following the flurry of substitutions early in the second half. Pushed high up the pitch and tried to get forward but doesn’t quite have the quality in those situations. 6

Davinson Sanchez

Some iffy defending for the Mura goal early on, even before he slipped. Fortunate to have remained on during the 52nd minute cull. He did improve as the game wore on but threw it all away as he was turned inside out in the final seconds before deflecting Marosa’s shot past Gollini. 3

Joe Rodon

One flat-footed moment early on but will have felt hard done by to be taken off just seven minutes into the second half with the others. 5

Matt Doherty

Got into some good positions down the right but didn’t have the quality in his final ball. Also hooked on 52 minutes. 4

Tanguy Ndombele

Back in the team and the Frenchman played a fine ball over the top to Gil early in the game but the Spaniard couldn’t take advantage. Went on a few driving runs that opened up Mura. Came off with 15 minutes to go having at least tried to make things happen. 5

Oliver Skipp

Set up Kane for a chance in the box in the first half. Worked incredibly hard in a thankless role in the centre of the pitch. Some wayward passing but he was one of Spurs’ better players. 6

Ryan Sessegnon

Such a disappointing return to the starting line-up. Had a shot blocked early on in the box but had already picked up one yellow card and on just 32 minutes collected another for a needless, rash challenge out wide of the Mura box. 2

Bryan Gil

Sliced a good early opportunity over the crossbar after heading on Ndombele’s ball over the top. Created some half-chances for others as the first half wore on. Got hooked in the quadruple substitution. 5

Harry Kane

Struggled to get into the game in the first half until taking a Skipp pass in the box and turning before shooting just wide of the right-hand post. Stepped up in the second half with Lucas and Son around him and his equaliser was a fine chip over the goalkeeper from a tight angle. Had a number of half decent chances in the second half that he should have done better with. 6

Dele Alli

Some nice touches in the first half but he contributed so little to the game. It’s difficult to see where he fits into this formation. 3

Subs

Son Heung-min

Soon after coming on he embarked on a great run across the Mura half and box before forcing the keeper into a flying save. 5

Lucas Moura

It was his pass that both Mura defenders left to each other and it ran through to Kane for the leveller. A couple of driving runs but he couldn’t find a way through, with a late shot sailing over. 5

Eric Dier

Came in and was solid at the back for the visitors. 6

Ben Davies

Pushed high up the pitch but like Tanganga and Doherty, his final ball wasn’t good enough. It was his slip that let Mura break to win the game. 4

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Came on with 15 minutes to go and attempted an effort from near the halfway line in the final five minutes of normal time. N/A
