Arsenal player ratings vs Leeds as Gabriel Martinelli stars while Odegaard and Saka sublime

Aaron Ramsdale: Had very little to do on the day but did a good job with his feet when asked to play out from the back and start Arsenal attacks. 7.

Takehiro Tomiyasu: Didn’t give Leeds a sniff, and remained concentrated in an atmosphere where it would have been easy to take his foot off the gas when Arsenal took such a commanding lead. 8.

Ben White: A few nice dribbles forward were a welcome return to the Arsenal build up. However, allowed Leeds back into the game with a wreckless challenge. Diving in is a part of his game that has become more evident in recent weeks, and it’s something that he’ll need to eradicate quickly. 6.

Gabriel: Again didn’t have too much to do but provided his usual threat from set pieces. Good playing out from the back also as the Gunners looked to build quickly. 7.

Kieran Tierney: Enjoyed the opportunity to get forward at will with how much space Leeds left down their right, but perhaps could have done better when defending Raphinha for Leeds’ best chance (other than the penalty). 6.

Thomas Partey: Had fun on a day where he was given a chance exploit the space Leeds left. Got forward plenty too and might have even scored. 7.

Granit Xhaka: The good and bad of the Swiss international today. Excellent in the first half where his quick balls forward were good particularly for Martinelli’s second. Then in the second needlessly put in an awful tackle that could easily have resulted in a red card. 7.

Bukayo Saka: Bounced back from an early miss to eventually net as reward for his excellent play. Found himself very advanced where he could cause problems to Leeds and was a constant thorn in the hosts’ side. 8.

Martin Odegaard: Really enjoyed himself in the amount of space Leeds provided. The Norwegian’s movement is excellent and his ability to pick out teammates when found pummelled the hosts throughout. Lovely assist for Smith Rowe’s goal, too. 8.

Gabriel Martinelli: Two more strikes for the Brazilian who now has more goal involvements than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Leeds couldn’t live with how clinical he was on the night. 9.

Alexandre Lacazette: The Frenchman’s selfless runs all over the pitch dragged Leeds defenders out of position and created space his teammates could exploit. A goal was all that was missing from his performance. 8.

Cedric: Steady enough down the right hand side. Clearly first in the queue behind Tomiyasu at right back but Arsenal will hope the Japanese international is OK nonetheless. 6.

Emile Smith Rowe: Another goal off the bench for the England international who is very unlucky to not be among the starters at the minute. 8.

Nuno Tavares: Came on too late to influence the game n/a.
