Arsenal tipped to sign 4 players in January transfer window including Alex Lacazette replacement

0 Arteta

The January transfer window is fast approaching, although it is notoriously difficult for clubs to do major businesses during the month. Arsenal may dive into the market and add to their ranks in order to push on for the remainder of the season.

Mikel Arteta’s men endured a torrid start to the season but the Gunners are now right in the mix for the European places, sitting just 6 points off second after Liverpool’s shock 1-0 defeat against Leicester at the King Power Stadium.

With momentum high and expectations growing, it is vital that Arsenal keep up their revival, and signing a few players might just provide the lift the dressing room needs to remain on course for Champions League football.

We have had a look at who bookmakers SkyBet are tipping walk through the doors at London Colney this month.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 8/1

In the search for big trophies and regular game time, the Ox left the Gunners back in 2017 to join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool for a deal worth £35 million.

Although he won the Champions League and Premier League with Liverpool, Oxlade-Chamberlain is still struggling to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s preferred eleven.

Arsenal may well look at that to tempt the Ox to move back to the Emirates stadium, with the experience of winning and the strong mentality that he has developed on Merseyside, Oxlade-Chamberlain will be a smart signing for Arteta.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 1/1

The Everton front man has been out of action since August but this hasn’t stopped the bookmakers to tip Arsenal to sign the England international.

With the future of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette up in the air, a new striker is surely on the shopping list for Mikel Arteta and Calvert-Lewin is heavily backed to make the move to London. DCL would add instant quality to the Arsenal front line with his strength, pace and deadly finishing.

Franck Kessie – 7/1

Franck Kessie has been linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham.

Having impressed at AC Milan, the 23 year old is attracting interests from clubs all over Europe and with his contract running out in the summer, he may well sign a pre-contract agreement during the January window.

However, the Gunners are backed to swoop in for the Ivorian international and add to their midfield options.

Ivan Toney – 10/1

10/1 may seem to be a long shot but Arsenal remain the favourites to sign Brentford’s star striker Ivan Toney.

Toney has adjusted well to life in the Premier League, last season’s Championship top scorer has caught the eyes of many big clubs in England including Liverpool and Tottenham, but the Gunners remain the most likely destination for the Bee’s number 17.
