“I will not talk about”

Chelsea drew 1-1 with Brighton last night away from home and the slump continues for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Recent form has been nothing short of very poor for Chelsea and whatever the reason, whether that is fatigue, lack of quality, team selections, mentality, the only real fact that matters is that a club like Chelsea cannot and will not continue this way. They need results, and they need to bounce back, and they will be looking at Tuchel to do this.

Romelu Lukaku has been the big topic of debate in recent weeks since his silly interview with Sky Italy, and there are no doubts in my mind that this has caused issues within the camp. On the surface it seems fine, but something doesn’t seem right to me at all right now.

Tuchel refused to be drawn into Lukaku discussions in his post-match press conference last night, as reported by Football London.

“I will not talk about single players. Today isn’t about Romelu. There are too many questions about Romelu and too many answers about Romelu. Romelu is by far not the problem, he is part of the solution.”
