Chelsea are getting desperate in their hunt for a backup left back – and their attempts to sign Emerson Palmieri are failing consistently.
The Blues desperately want to recall their player from France, but according to Fabrizio Romano, they’ve now had three offers turned down by Lyon.
It’s a ridiculous situation to be in – he’s our player, and we should have a watertight recall clause inserted. This situation isn’t some freak injury crisis, it’s taken just one serious injury to get to this stage.

If you don’t have a third left back option in the squad, you’d better make sure your guys out on loan can be brought back midway through the season, just in case.
Regardless, these failures have also wasted 3 weeks of the window, and only decreased our other options to bring people in. Just as we expected, this January has been a bit of a farce. There’s still time – but not much.
