Jorginho was not included in Chelsea’s matchday squad today, leading plenty of Italy fans to panic that he might be injured.
They have a crucial World Cup qualifier coming up, and missing their midfielder would be a huge blow.
But luckily for them, as Thomas Tuchel explained after the game, it was actually the opposite situation. He had rested Jorginho because he had played a lot of games in a row, and he wanted to leave him fresh for those Italy matches.
As Tuchel pointed out with a cheeky grin, Roberto Mancini really owes him one now.
