Unlikely player issues Chelsea rallying cry » Chelsea News

When Chelsea are struggling there are a few people you’d expect to step up and speak out – maybe club captain Cesar Azpilicueta, maybe the legendary Thiago Silva, maybe born pointer Jorginho.

One person who you might not expect to speak out is the softly spoken new boy Malang Sarr.

But in quotes picked up by Football.London this week, the defender roused his comrades after a pair of bitterly disappointing results on the bounce.

“Chelsea is a club that know how to win and this group as well so I think there is a lot of confidence because everyone knows we can do it, but we need to put in the work,” the former Nice man said.

“We must just put our mind on the task and do whatever we need to do. I think that’s the point – just be ready for that and work hard.”

It’s going to be a real battle today against a super fresh and well organised Southampton team, and Sarr could well get a run out as Thomas Tuchel looks to refresh a team that really looks to be tiring.

Tuchel has never had three defeats in a row as Chelsea boss, and he will be desperate to keep that record today. With even his squad players getting this pumped up, we reckon the Blues will turn round their bad form and get the job done.
