“I’ve got to play on”

There was a keen Chelsea interest during the Championship Playoff final last night.

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill started the game as a loanee for Huddersfield Town, and there was also Tino Anjorin on the bench.

Colwill had some bad luck early on and scored an own-goal, a goal that actually ended up deciding the fixture.

As a 19-year-old, you would have fully expected this situation to effect him. However, he showed his character and top mentality to carry on the game and not only that, play a very good game. His side were actually hugely unlucky not to get two clear penalties to win the game, but in the end it was Nottingham Forest who got the prize of a Premier League return.

Colwill spoke after the game, as reported by Goal, and his words just say even more about the winning attitude he has.

“I felt like we were the better team. You look at those two penalties and it felt very weird that not even one of them was given, they were both penalties.

“There wasn’t much I could do about the goal. I just wanted to block it but he kicked my knee up and it hit it. I didn’t know what to say but I thought f*** it. I’ve got to play on and help the team. That’s what I tried to do. It was just unfortunate. It is football, bad luck, I won’t let it stop me or get my head down.

“It has been the best year of my life. I am proud. The staff and team have been brilliant. We had great togetherness and I am proud to be part of this team.”

This guy will go far!
