It’s the first full day of Chelsea’s new era under new ownership today as Todd Boehly and co take the reigns for their first day in charge.
Yesterday it was finally officially confirmed via the Chelsea website that they had taken the reigns from Roman Abramovich, and the hard work is bound to get started right away ahead of a very busy summer.
The plans will begin and discussions will take place. And one point of call will be potentially adding a former player or two to the new Chelsea board, according to The Daily Mail.
The report says that the new owners will consider adding a former player to Chelsea’s hierarchy in the future.
It looks like they might be looking at the success of Bayern Munich legends Franz Beckenbauer and Uli Hoeness being honorary presidents at the German club, and Edwin van der Sar is chief executive at Ajax.
