Petr Cech blames Covid and “long term injury” for player’s bad season » Chelsea News

Petr Cech was cornered by Sky Sports at a charity event last night and asked about Romelu Lukaku, and the Chelsea technical director was of course very positive about the Belgian.

He insisted he expected a better season all round this time, and blamed the striker’s struggles on a “long term injury” and his bout of Covid.

Of course he would – whether he wants to sell Lukaku or not, it’s not in his interest to talk him down – but even then, we would appreciate an answer which is a little more transparent.
