The summer transfer window has officially opened in England today, and it sparks a busy period ahead for Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel, and the new club owners.
The Blues will need to push ahead with replacing departing defenders, as well as addressing many other areas on the pitch that needs improving, and also replacing further players who might depart during this window.
The first signing through the door is expected to happen fairly soon. We don’t know when exactly, but former Sky Sports reporter Graeme Bailey spoke on my Podcast yesterday, Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, and he says that Jules Kounde will join Chelsea this summer.
Bailey, who now writes for 90min, gave a whole hour of Chelsea transfer news ahead of the window opening up today, and he says that Kounde to Chelsea is “95% done.”
The player wants to join Chelsea, even despite having interest from other top clubs.
“Jules Kounde will come in, we know that’s happening. He wants to go to Chelsea. This is 95% done.”
