There’s been increasing chatter in the last few days about a move for Gabriel Jesus away from Manchester City, and Chelsea’s name is in the mix.
It started with links to Arsenal, who need a striker, but since then the rumours have expanded to include Chelsea, who are hoping to be able to shift Romelu Lukaku and replace him.
We have said all along that Man City would rather not sell to a Premier League rival – even one as far off their standard as Arsenal – and given they have pretty much unlimited wealth, they may even accept a lower offer from abroad to avoid strengthening another Premier League team.
That’s why the interest from AC Milan as reported by Football.London is notable. The Italian side could probably offer a lower fee than Chelsea or some other Premier League teams and get a deal done if they appeal to the fact that they’re getting the striker out City’s way.
