Marca published a story 6 hours ago which claimed that Barcelona are set to meet Chelsea representatives to discuss the futures of Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta.
The pair both want to join the Catalan giants, and Barca are apparently confident that they can agree a “very, very affordable” deal done.
Azpilicueta has just one year left on his deal, and Chelsea are happy to let him go for a modest fee. Alonso is younger and will cost more, but is also heading towards the end of his deal, and it seems the Blues are willing to cash in on both as part of their regenerative summer.
Barcelona certainly need any deal to be affordable. They are strapped for cash, and are going to have to sell at least one of their major players this summer to free up more.
The two clubs appear to have very intertwined futures as it stands.
