Chelsea interested in £2.7m rated right wing-back » Chelsea News

The wide right area is an area on the pitch that Chelsea have often been linked with signing new players in.

This is probably because the future of Cesar Azpilicueta is unclear, and Thomas Tuchel wants to add more competition to Reece James in that role, as well as bulking out the squad to cover injuries. Both Chelsea’s main wing-backs James and Ben Chilwell suffered lengthy injuries last season, perhaps proving that there is a need for extra cover.

Sources: Chelsea have a genuine interest in Matthijs De Ligt and are in talks to sign him.

A new name for the right side has been mentioned, and it certainly isn’t a name you’d probably expect to hear, but is this the result of some smart scouting?

Middlesbrough’s 22-year-old Isaiah Jones is wanted by Chelsea, according to a report from 90min today.

Jones, rated as being worth £2.7m by Transfermarkt, has been converted from a winger to a wing-back and has been impressing this season. In the same report though, it looks like the player does not want to leave his club this summer.
