Inter Milan want Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea want to get rid of Romelu Lukaku, and Romelu Lukaku wants to go to Inter.
So what’s the problem?
Well, Chelsea bought Lukaku from Inter for £100m, and the Italian club aren’t rich enough to buy him back full price.
So the two clubs are locked in a summit to work out their payment plan, with several players apparently on the table as potential part-exchange tokens.
Italian paper Gazzetta dello Sport has the daily update, which claims that Denzel Dumfries, the wing back signed after an impressive Euro 2020 last summer, is potentially ready to be used as a makeweight, and that Thomas Tuchel is a fan of his, meaning there’s likely to be a green light on his end.
Chelsea already have one of the world’s best right backs in the form of Reece James, but it’s thought he could switch and play centrally more often.
