Italian papers making big talk about Inter right back » Chelsea News

Chelsea and Inter Milan’s contact over Romelu Lukaku has lead to some interesting theorising about Inter players who could be included in the deal to make it affordable for the Italian side.

SportWitness have translated quotes from SportMediaset which claims that Denzel Dumfries, the right back who signed for Inter a year ago, has become an “obsession” for Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.

The Dutch international would provide cover for Reece James on the right hand side, and also allow James to play as a narrow centre-back when necessary.

To us, it all sounds rather hopeful from the Italian side. Dumfries hardly set the world alight in Milan, and despite his obvious ability, it sounds to us like the press on the continent are just talking up the chances of a move for the sake of some exciting headlines.

All the same, it’s interesting to have some fresh names in the mix to consider.
