Raheem Sterling is being strongly linked to Chelsea at the moment, with a move to the capital looking very likely at the moment.
People are already speculating about how he might fit in at Stamford Bridge, and some interesting comments from Reece James last summer have already come to light.
Football.London dug up the right back’s thoughts on Sterling ahead of the European Championships:
“Everyone knows how good of a player Raheem Sterling is. He’s probably one of the best wingers in the world at this moment in time,” James raved.
“We’re going to need him for this tournament [European Championships]. Raheem Sterling is definitely up there and I would probably say [Sadio] Mane as well.”
The two of them would be playing together down Chelsea’s right hand side, and it’s a scary thought for some teams how they might link up and use their respective skill sets to hurt teams.
There are plenty of critics of Sterling’s game, but in Tuchel’s mechanical system, we can see him making a huge impact, and you’ve got to respect James’ opinion on the Man City man.
With a bit of practice together, they could be a real weapon in the Premier League.
